February was a busy month for the Goldfields team, with several of our leaders contributing to key industry forums across Australia.
These events brought together developers, investors, policymakers and operators to discuss the forces shaping the property sector, from capital markets and market cycles through to the continued evolution of Build to Rent.
Here’s a recap of the highlights:
Marco Gattino – Founder & Managing Director
Marco joined The Urban Developer’s Developer Outlook Lunch in Melbourne, where discussions focused on the outlook for Victoria’s property sector. With ongoing shifts in capital conditions and planning dynamics, the session highlighted both the challenges and opportunities ahead for developers navigating the next phase of the cycle.

Lachlan Thompson – CEO
Lachlan spoke at the Apartments.com.au VIC Market Insights Event, contributing to a broader conversation on the state of the apartment market. Key themes included supply constraints, feasibility pressures, and how developers are adapting product and delivery strategies in response to changing buyer and investor demand.

Mitchell Tayt – General Manager Build to Rent
Mitch headed along to The Australian Build to Rent Success Summit in Sydney, joining a panel on applying global urban planning lessons to the Australian BTR market. The discussion explored how international best practice can inform local delivery — from placemaking and density to long-term operational performance — as the sector continues to mature.

Across all three events, a consistent theme emerged: the importance of long-term thinking, disciplined delivery, and adaptability in an increasingly complex environment.
We’re proud to be involved in these important conversations and to be actively engaged in shaping what comes next for the industry.
