Breaking ground at Parkers Grove, Goldfields’ Shepparton community underway

Construction is now underway at Parkers Grove, Goldfields’ $205 million, 650-lot masterplanned community in the heart of Shepparton.

The milestone was marked with a ceremonial turning of the first sod, attended by the Mayor of Greater Shepparton, Cr Geoff Akers, Goldfields representatives and our newly appointed civil construction partner, Winslow.

As the first residential housing project to receive a planning permit within the Shepparton South East PSP, Parkers Grove will play an important role in supporting the region’s future growth, helping to address housing affordability and supply while creating hundreds of construction jobs.

Located just nine minutes from the heart of Shepparton, Parkers Grove has been thoughtfully designed to create a connected and vibrant new community. The master-planned estate will feature a centrally located one-hectare community park, natural wetlands and walking paths, with a future government school, convenience centre and open space sporting fields planned for the surrounding precinct.

Speaking at the event, Goldfields National Director – Communities, Paul Cicchiello said: “Parkers Grove reflects Goldfields’ long-term commitment to regional Victoria, with our investment in local amenity extending to include an upgrade to nearby Channel Road to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for the community.”

The project will also honour Shepparton’s rich heritage as Australia’s food bowl, carrying the legacy of the former pear orchard into a new chapter of regional growth and community life.

With Winslow now on site, construction of Stage 1 is underway, with titles expected in Q3 2027. Early interest in the project has been encouraging, with Stage 2 anticipated to be released early next year.

This exciting milestone also brings us to another: Parkers Grove is Goldfields’ third groundbreaking ceremony for October, following our commercial office [BW3] development, 88 Robertson, in Fortitude Valley and our Richmond apartment development, The Brightly, earlier this month. This is a real reflection of the breadth of Goldfields’ development expertise and the momentum behind our diverse portfolio.

We look forward to seeing Parkers Grove take shape and to delivering a community that will contribute to Shepparton’s continued growth for years to come.
